Sanyukta up for ‘Wedding Boutique of the Year Award’

London – A leading sustainable bridal designer in the UK, Sanyukta Shrestha, has been announced as a finalist for the Wedding Boutique of the Year Award 2025 by Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards. The list of 2025 finalists includes top names that create fairy-tale and unique weddings across Britain.
“We are very thrilled and honoured to be finalists again this year after winning Britain’s Asian Wedding Award for Highly Commended Wedding Outfit Designer of the Year 2024 and Wedding Boutique of the Year Award – London 2023. We would never have achieved this without all the brides who believed in us. Winning these prestigious awards in 2020, 2023, and 2024 was an unforgettable moment, and this nomination has added yet another milestone. Fourteen beautiful years in the UK wedding industry, and we are so blessed that brides nominate us for wedding awards every year,” said Sanyukta Shrestha.
Recognised by the media as the ‘Greta of the Wedding World’ and a pioneer of the sustainable bridal movement, Nepalese-born British designer Sanyukta has led the concept of sustainable luxury since the launch of her eco-friendly brand in 2011, when sustainability was still an unfamiliar term for the mass media and average consumers. Since the opening of her flagship boutique, Sanyukta has single-handedly redefined the bridal market with her innovative and eco-friendly approach.
What makes her stand out is her unwavering commitment to ethical workforces and environmental advocacy. She offers a sustainable choice for brides while running a business that leads by example, giving back to the community and supporting women’s empowerment. A winner of the PETA Luxury Vegan Wedding Award, Sanyukta is the first designer of Nepali origin to have her work preserved and documented among over 100,000 objects in The Fashion Museum’s history, spanning from the 16th century to the present day.
Her innovation has inspired women globally and drawn a diverse range of brides from all over the world to her boutique to embrace a sustainable lifestyle. Infused with her passion and expertise in couture craftsmanship, Sanyukta specialises in bespoke wedding dress services, fulfilling her mission to not only empower women but also create the wedding gown each bride dreams of. The luxurious eco-friendly fabrics, innovative techniques, and Nepalese craftsmanship make Sanyukta Shrestha a one-of-a-kind destination that combines sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility under one roof.
Her recent documentary, showcased at London Fashion Week, explored Sanyukta’s belief in the power of fashion as a force for cultural cohesion and social harmony. By spotlighting Nepalese artisans—95% of whom are women—the film highlighted the importance of fair wages, safe working conditions, and societal respect for these ‘unheard heroes’ of the fashion and bridal industries. “Fashion should not only look and feel good, but it must do good,” Sanyukta said. “By valuing the artisans behind each piece, we ensure the preservation of traditional skills and contribute to a sustainable future for the fashion industry.”
The 8th Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards are organised by Oceanic Consulting, Britain’s leading and largest ethnic awards events company, which organises over 50 awards annually in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Leicester, and Cardiff. This year, the glamorous black-tie event will take place on Wednesday, 5 February 2025, at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, London Kensington, where the winners will be announced.
