Kathmandu – Genese Solution, a leading IT consulting company, and Kageshwori Manohara municipality, have joined forces to establish the Genese Technology & Excellence Centre (G-TEC) with a view to supporting local youth to gain tech skills and prepare them for employment opportunities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

During an event organised at Mulpani, Kathmandu on Saturday to announce the establishment of G-TEC, Mayor of Kageshwori Manohara municipality, Mr Upendra Karki, emphasised the vast opportunities that tech education could bring to the community. “Today’s youth are looking for education that could lead them to gainful employment. We are so happy to collaborate with Genese Solution and would like to extend our sincere thanks to Genese for this timely initiative,” he said.

Chairman of Ward No 6 of Kageshwori Manohara municipality, Prakash Phuyal, said that many youth were going abroad as they could not find employment locally. He thanked Genese Solution for providing such an opportunity to local youth in their own community and expressed full support from the municipality.

During the event, founder and CEO of Genese Solution, Anjani Phuyal, introduced the project and its goals. “This centre will empower community members, including local youth, by providing industry-aligned skills, fostering innovation, and creating pathways to sustainable employment. Genese Solution will organise a tech bootcamp to train local youth in web development, data science, AI, and cybersecurity,” said Mr Phuyal, adding, “We will connect local youth to certificate-awarding courses offered by AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, which would directly link them to the IT job market.”

He also thanked Mayor Karki, Chairman of Ward No 6, Prakash Phuyal, and the entire municipality team for their support and encouragement in establishing G-TEC.

A ‘Girls in Tech’ group has also been formed to promote women’s participation in the tech sector. Nearly 70 local youth have already signed up with the centre to join various courses, a press statement said.
